BitArmor Systems, Inc.: Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

Exciting software startup company seeks a full-time quality assurance engineer with prior software development experience in a team environment. The position will provide an opportunity to play a key role in the development life cycle of a cutting-edge data security product.

The candidate will be responsible for creating test plans, developing automated test procedures, and performing quality assurance testing for all the company's software products. The candidate will work directly with the software development team in reviewing functional design specifications and source code, writing functional systems and performance test plans, summarizing test results, and analyzing, reporting, and tracking bugs. Position may involve some interaction with customers on product support issues. Also, the position may involve the management of software development tools.

Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree
  • 5+ years experience in quality assurance testing of application and/or system software for Windows/UNIX environments
  • Extensive knowledge of C/C++/C# programming languages, including development experience in one or more of these languages
  • Solid understanding of the software development process
  • Strong knowledge of QA practices and policies
  • Proven success running builds, creating releases, deploying to a QA environment
  • Automated UI testing experience
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective at multi-tasking, working under tight deadlines and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written language skills and ability to write clear, concise and easy-to-understand documentation
  • TCP/IP networking knowledge

Panasas: Performance Engineer

As a member of the software engineering team, the incumbent is responsible for the design and implementation of performance benchmarks and measurement infrastructure, the collection and analysis of performance data from industry standard benchmarks and customer applications, and the testing at large scale portions of a distributed, object-based storage system. The position works closely with others on the product development, sales, and support teams, as well as with customers; each area of responsibility is often a collaboration process, so the candidate must possess excellent communication skills.

Experience / Qualifications Preferred:

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Networking (or equivalent program)
  • 3-5 years professional programming experience in C/C++

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Computer Science / Computer Engineering (or equivalent program)
  • Two years professional experience implementing HPC applications on

  • Two years professional experience in performance analysis and tuning of
  • HPC or distributed systems
  • In-depth knowledge of the Unix operating system internals, specifically

    • fault-tolerance, high availability, and scalability
    • Linux kernel programming
    • File Systems development
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are needed for effective cross-team collaboration
  • Exceptional capacity to manage multiple competing demands on time and lab resources, and willingness to perform large scale experiments during non-peak hours.
  • Self-starting, highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently with little supervision

UPMC: Paid Intern Position # 097146

Our Programmer Intern will assist in coding ASP.NET clinical applications in C# and Transact-SQL under the supervision of the senior programming staff. In addition, our candidate will be responsible for the testing of applications for correctness by following written QA plans. Our candidate will also participate in the planning of clinical applications including software architecture, database design, and information flow. In addition, may participate in the migration of existing application to a new virtual server environment. Must have completed sophomore year of college in a related technical field such as computer science, information management, business administration, or related field. Course work in system analysis, design, design of operating systems; and at least two programming classes is required. Information systems or computer science degree candidates are acceptable with preference for those interested in project management and the development life cycle. This position is located in our Shadyside offices.

Full-time, M-F, daylight, Programmer III opening with the Clinical Programs division of ISD located in Shadyside. Under the direction of the management team, this senior level position provides proficient programming services, defining technical requirements, developing and/or maintaining computer applications/systems, and providing services to meet client IT and business needs. The incumbent must be skilled in making architecture and strategy decisions for real time mission critical systems.

Job Responsibilities: protect the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information; provide service according the expectations of ISD service level agreements, resolve complex problems in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field with 5 years of experience in information systems is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Experience in object-oriented software design methodologies, C++, MFC, C#, Java, Visual Basic, Net, Web Services, XML, XSLT is preferred. Experience developing application for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP highly desired. Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Description: Sure, you could manage networks or write big important financial software. Or you could do something fun, like making games. We hope you choose the latter. We are a Carnegie Mellon spinoff making training games for adults in various industries. Don't worry; they're fun, and even your mother would approve of these games. Our development team is truckin' along but in need of additional programmers.
