BitArmor Systems, Inc.: Security Software Developer

BitArmor Systems seeks a full-time software engineer with prior team-oriented development experience. The position involves client and server software development for a next-generation data security product.

The candidate should have a strong background in C# (using .NET and Mono) and C++ development. Experience in interfacing to and managing database systems (especially MySQL) using .NET APIs, as well as experience with ADSI or NTDS is also preferred. Familiarity with today's computer security market and security concepts such as authentication, confidentiality, and integrity is desired. Programming experience in both Windows and Unix/Linux platforms is highly preferred.

Required qualifications include:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science or computer engineering
  • 5+ years experience in development of application and/or system software for Windows/Unix environments
  • Deep knowledge of C/C++/C# programming languages
  • Deep knowledge of multi-threaded programming and systems
  • TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Solid understanding of the software development process
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective at multi-tasking, working under tight deadlines and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written language skills and ability to write clear, concise, and easy-to-understand documentation

Plusses:

  • Experience in developing cryptographic software and systems
  • Startup experience
  • Proficient with Visual Studio or Mono development tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, LDAP, or other directory services
  • Familiarity with operating system security concepts

  • Ability to interact with customer projects onsite about 30% of time
  • Microsoft Systems Engineer Certification and logistics experience a plus

The primary responsibilities of the position will be to design, maintain and enhance Sherpa products. Other responsibilities include translating customer needs into product features, assisting sales and marketing staff with technical enquiries, working with support staff to resolve both pre and post sales support issues, maintaining and enhancing product documentation and providing regular enhancements to the products.

Google: Software Engineer

Google is aggressively looking to hire several world-class engineers to join our Pittsburgh engineering team to develop our next-generation search engine and related technologies. Some of the projects you could work on include: cutting-edge information retrieval algorithms, scalability issues related to dealing with huge amounts of data and a rapidly increasing user population, and a variety of novel search features.

The Pittsburgh office of Google has been open since January of 2006 and we are continuing to grow! We are located on the Carnegie Mellon University campus in the Collaborative Innovation Center.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent (PhD a plus).
