Responsibilities:

The Oracle DBA will be responsible for working on multiple environments and projects for our diverse customer base. Responsibilities include production support of database environments and database software product installation and administration. Under minimal supervision, the DBA will be responsible for proactive monitoring and maintenance, resolving technical issues, backup and recovery and performance tuning. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform ongoing database administration, maintenance, performance tuning, installation and backup/recovery of Oracle databases running on Windows, Unix and Linux environments.
  • Define and implement monitoring systems, respond to alerts, troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support as part of a rotational schedule.
  • Ensure continued high customer satisfaction through ongoing account management.
  • Work with customers to measure and manage service levels.
  • Oversee the completion of projects including planning; assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress, and evaluating results.
  • Ensure effective flow of communication between the DBA team, customers, and management.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Unix, Windows, Linux).
  • Experience with 9i or 10G RAC implementations a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP Applications and/or Peoplesoft also a plus.
  • OCP or OCA Certification a plus.

Panasas: Technical Support Engineer III

Responsible for providing high level remote technical support for distributed NAS storage product. Support requirements include problem assessment, interactive hardware and software troubleshooting, system configuration, and leading customers through to problem resolution. Identify and authorize defective parts for return to service for repair. Identify and log both hardware and software bugs. Work interactively with both customers and Panasas engineers when necessary to resolve product issues. Subject matter expert on Panasas service offerings, storage products, distributed architecture, file systems, and competitive storage offerings in the DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces. Emphasis is on customer satisfaction and providing the most professional and satisfying support experience to delight customers. On-call, after hours duty to be expected.

Experience/Qualifications Preferred:

  • 5+ years call center experience
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Siebel, PeopleSoft, or Clarify
  • 5+ years direct customer service experience either in pre- or post-sales environment or experience as QA engineer
  • Storage industry background
  • Superior organizational skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent industry experience of 7+ years working with distributed and/or clustered file systems (AFS/DFS, NFS, VXFS)
  • Comfortable and challenged by troubleshooting customer issues with insufficient data or lack of complete customer information
  • Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN)
  • UNIX (BSD, Linux, System V), Networking (TCP/IP, 100/1K Ethernet), Backup (HSM, Legato, Veritas) and Database Administration experience
  • Knowledge of C/C++, Perl and TCL to understand programs written in these languages
  • Knowledge on SCSI Standards, Protocol Command-Set and RAID architecture
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server (NT, WIN2K, XP) storage implementations (NTFS/CIFS/SMS) and/or enterprise applications (AS, Data Center, Exchange)
  • Networking and switching architecture knowledge

Panasas: Manager, Quality Assurance

Panasas Inc., a pioneer in Clustered Storage software, is seeking a QA Manager with a proven track record of focusing on Quality measurement and improvement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a geographically distributed team of QA Engineers. The team will consist of around 6 individuals to focus Build and Release and code porting effort. The candidate will work closely with Development, Test Automation and documentation teams to ensure high quality products are delivered for enterprise customers.

Experience/Qualifications Preferred:

  • 7+ years of industry experience in Quality Assurance or Development roles
  • 3+ years of leadership and/or management experience
  • Ideal candidate has strong communication skills and experience interacting with other teams throughout product life cycles
  • Experience working in a complex fast paced environment
  • Ability to discuss and contribute to technical design/architecture and development of complex systems
  • Strong understanding of product life cycles and experience in shipping product and maintenance releases from beginning to end while working with remote teams
  • Previous experience in testing or assuring the quality of complex software systems such as kernels, OS components, drivers, etc. is a plus
  • Experience with C/C++ is a plus

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field
  • Experience with Perl and/or Python
  • Deep understanding of product development process and a keen eye for delivering quality products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
