Position Description: Guru.com has an immediate need for an experienced, self-motivated, passionate, highly productive C#/.NET Software Engineer to work on development projects. Ideal candidates must have an outstanding development expertise, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and solid experience building multi-tiered applications. The candidate must be a performance-oriented individual willing to work independently and in a small team environment. The candidate must be able to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment. This individual will focus on C#/.NET middle-tier and database development.

Required skills and knowledge:

• 5+ years professional software development experience
• 4+ years extensive C# .NET development experience
• 4+ years extensive database development experience using MS SQL server
• 2+ years experience with XML
• Knowledge of OOP Concepts & Component Design
• Strong problem analysis skills
• Strong solution design skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle and computer science concepts
• College degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience

Desirable skills:

• Experience in Design Patterns and Refactoring
• Hibernate/NHibernate experience
• Spring/Spring.NET experience
• Experience designing/implementing Web Services
• Office Automation (Visio knowledge would be a big plus)
• Microsoft Certification

We have an immediate opening for an outstanding individual to join our software development team and take a leadership role in developing our Java- and Flex-based web applications. If you are this person, you will be a key member of our team and will be directly involved in all aspects of product design, implementation, testing and enhancement. This is a small, highly focused team, and you will have ample opportunity to take a leadership role in major projects.

You must have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent four-year degree with a 3.0+ GPA, and experience building commercial-quality interactive Internet applications. You need a thorough knowledge of Java, Servlets, JSP, HTML/CSS, and the ability to adapt and learn new technologies. Experience with Flash ActionScript or Flex is highly desirable; other plusses include JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and video codecs.

On a personal level, you must be willing to work hard, and deliver high quality and maintainable code on time. You must be highly intelligent, have complete integrity, boundless energy, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do the work required in a fast-growing small company.
